The pitch
The pitch is a startup’s moment of truth. In very little time, the challenge is to get to the point and place the audience inside your world and your stakes.
On Tuesday 4 July 2018, more than 60 startups pitched to nearly 70 business angels at the eighth WeLikeStartup Challenge.

The investors judged the energy and appeal of each presentation, but also market depth, how well the teams complemented each other, and how innovative the startup was.
Innovation and energy
The event was also a chance to take stock of entrepreneurial trends.
Among the startups present were B2B solutions aimed at making founders’ lives easier. The accounting tool IPaidThat, which automates bookkeeping, made a strong impression, as did Bonanza, which connects students looking for internships with companies looking for interns. French manufacturing was well represented by Le Biberon Français, and e-sport was clearly gaining ground: Weezar, a coaching solution for gamers, won the room over with its approach to building player communities.
Scalability and innovation with WeChain
It was the WeChain event application that carried the vote of the 70 business angels. WeChain lets an event organiser create the private, secure social network of their event and project all published content onto a large screen — in one click, from a SaaS client area.

Beyond the innovative side of the product, it was above all its scalability that convinced the jury. WeChain is a fully digital product designed to be as simple as possible to use. The young company was selling its solution to a growing number of professional and individual customers, who valued its ease of use and the enjoyable experience that other players in the sector lacked.
On the back of this result, WeChain planned its first funding round for September 2018, with several investors having already expressed interest at the end of the challenge.
