Live quizzes and live polls, explained
What is a live quiz at an event?
It is a set of questions the whole room answers at once from their phones, with the results projected live. WeChain handles scored, timed quizzes, with points for correct answers and for speed, and an individual or team leaderboard. It is the simplest way to wake a plenary after lunch.
How do you run a live poll in a plenary?
You prepare the question in advance, then open it from the dashboard when the moment comes. Answers arrive within seconds and the chart fills on the big screen while the room votes. A live poll is as useful for taking the temperature as for starting a debate.
Do attendees need to install an app to take part?
No. Attendees join the quiz through a link or a QR code, with no download and no account to create. That is a practical condition: at a company event, any installation step loses part of the room before the first question.
Can people play in teams rather than individually?
Yes, and at a seminar it is often the better choice. A team leaderboard gets people talking who do not know each other, where an individual one isolates the most confident. Teams can be set in advance or drawn at random, depending on whether you want to mix departments.
How long does a quiz take to prepare?
Twenty or so questions take under an hour to enter. The work is editorial: finding the right balance between questions about the company, general knowledge and a blind test. We provide templates, and a dedicated project manager helps with that calibration.
