Photo, organization, role and contact details: each attendee introduces themselves as they wish.

Tags and categories

Speakers, VIPs, exhibitors, employees: categories structure the directory and the access rights.

Linked program appearances

A speaker’s profile lists their past and upcoming slots in the program.

One-click conversation

A single button opens a private chat, with no phone numbers exchanged.

Available from every page

The directory opens as an overlay from the header, so nobody loses their place in the program.

The attendee directory and networking, explained

What is an attendee directory for?

It turns a guest list into a network you can search. Each attendee has a profile — role, company, interests — and can find the others before, during and after the event. At a convention where most people do not know each other, it is what makes networking something other than luck.

How do you encourage people to meet at a company event?

WeChain offers matchmaking by shared interest: attendees enter their topics and the app suggests the people they have something to discuss with. It works better than a drinks reception left to chance, particularly between teams that never work together.

Do attendees control what is visible?

Yes. Each person chooses what appears on their profile and can stay out of the directory. The organiser separately decides which fields are offered and how visible the module is, depending on whether this is an internal event or an open trade show.

Does the directory work for an event open to the public?

Yes, under different rules. At a trade show, exhibitors and visitors have neither the same rights nor the same visibility, and the organiser decides what each category sees. At an internal seminar the directory is usually open to everyone, since they already belong to the same organisation.

What happens to contacts after the event?

They stay available for as long as the event stays open, along with the thread of the conversation. That is the difference from a stack of business cards: three weeks later you still know what you discussed and when, which makes following up possible.

It plays as a team

The directory feeds the encounters the rest of the platform sets up.
